A socio-cultural group, Ojuju Agbadufu Igala, has called on Governor Yahaya Bello to disband the screening committee headed by Brigadier General Paul Olushola Okuntimo and throw the ‘cooked up’ preliminary report of the committee to the dustbin.

The position of the group was contained in a communique issued after an emergency meeting over the crisis occasioned by the on-going screening exercise by Kogi state government.

The group added her voice to the growing condemnation of the outcome of the screening exercise and called on the governor to disband the committee with immediate effect.

According to the communique signed by Friday Ikani Omone, the President-in-Council, the group alleged that the committee chairman, Paul Okuntimo, misled Governor Bello to make public that there were over 200 ghost workers at the Kogi State College of Education (Technical) Kabba, but through the oversight function of some members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, the claim was confirmed to be a hoax.

“The screening committee chairman has approved new employment on his own and gave form for screening to his relative on Kabba”, the communique read.

The group said the screening exercise, though, well thought out, has become ill-fated alleging that the chairman and some members of the committee has jettisoned the interest of the state for personal goals.
