For the purpose of doubt, I make my submission with a whole and open heart standing to be corrected with issues based objection. May I start by saying President Muhammadu Bihari ascended national authority at the truing times of Nigeria’s national unity and critical era of global crude export countries. This two loopholes may seem negligible
but there’s won’t be any just assessment of this present administration if this two things are ignored.

Although many analyst and political watchers have credited many promises to PMB during the campaigns, the focal point of his campaigns were unarguably-defeating boko haram insurgence, job creation, stabilizing the economy and fighting corruption. Recall that during his inaugural speech on Friday, 29th May, 2015. He made a mind bugling
quote which went world wide-“I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody”. Hence, it must be first examined before taking a critical look and assessment of his first 365days in office.

Buhari has uncommonly been for everybody and for nobody since his assumption as President based on the sequence of events experienced so far. From the national assembly saga to Taraba guber tribunal and rivers mass call for a state of emergency down to the even distribution of the bail out fund to states irrespective of party affiliation not to talk of his stern resistance to budget padding and maneuvering by the national assembly. Amidst pressure and juicy offers, PMB has since his inauguration maintain his stands based on personal conviction irrespective of who is involved and what is at stake! That to me is the ideal requirement of a pragmatic leader.

BOKO HARAM: whereas sadist will still find this unaccomplished, a just mind will unequivocally agree that since the inception of this government, an end was put to every Friday bombings, Sunday service scares, long check point queues, congested area high tensions and other emotions experienced by Nigerians due to the menace often unleashed by the deadly boko haram. In fact, the northeast even now has an atmosphere of peace as many IDP’s now reduce in population while reclaimed lands are under surgeon for the Northeast resuscitation. Although, this giant stride of winning the war against insurgents may not be acknowledged by many Nigerians, friends and family of Boko haram deserters has more light to share on this.

JOB CREATION: It will be right to say the Buhari led Federal government has not done physical much in this aspect but it is at the same time too early to conclude. For the records purpose, the 2016 budget was not passed as early as expected and the twin minister of “labour and employment” who would have co worked with the honorable minister of labour and employment was lost in an accident early this year and this is no doubt a major setback. Moreover, the government is not relaxed on job creation as the Nigerian police, immigration service, customs and Nigerian navy/army are saliently enrolling unemployed youths into their services.

ECONOMY: Of course I am not ideologically enslaved, hence join other Nigerians to criticize the dwindling fortunes and market hardship occasioned mainly by antics who plan day and night for the Buhari led Federal government not to succeed. However, the government is not mute on this as it has been pro actively engaging thesis to help proffer
lasting solution to the economy. In the quest of this, significant bilateral and international relations has been established and there is much optimism that its proceeds will tell on the nation in a short time from now.

CORRUPTION: Many have argued this as been one sided but one thing remains sacrosanct in the fight against corruption. That is, pointing accusation fingers will heat walls until evidences are produced. In this light, I for one believes there has been a great turn around for yam eaters and treasury looters as the anti graft agencies has been
for the past one year independently worming very hard to track and recover loots with evidences acceptable in the eyes of the law.

Moreover, the President has countlessly challenged Nigerians who are uncomfortable with his crony and appointees to feel free in providing indicting evidences of their contempts with assurance of his proactive action. How well can a man be committed to fight against corruption?

On a concluding note, those who are crying fowl should take wisdom from a proverb in my dialect which says “one man can cook for a community to consume but a community cannot cook for one man to consume” and realise that the heart of PMB to Nigeria depict one man and a community and add little more patience to the anxiety for change. Change is never easy but with our common resolve, it will come to pass.

God bless President Muhammadu Buhari,

God bless federal republic of Nigeria.
