The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the November 21 gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Goodman Akwu, has filed a petition at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lokoja.
Akwu, who filed his petition last Thursday, is challenging the declaration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the Kogi governor-elect.
He also seeks the conduct of a fresh election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on grounds that the votes garnered by the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the inconclusive poll could not be transferred to another candidate.
The running mate to the late Prince Audu, Mr James Abiodun Faleke and the incumbent KogiĀ  governor, Capt. Idris Wada, had earlier filed their separate petitions at the tribunal.
While Faleke is challenging the INEC for declaring the November 21 election inconclusive, Wada is challenging the declaration of Alhaji Bello as the Kogi governor-elect.
