The Community Development Service (CDS) objective of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has created a veritable platform for leadership training for prospective corp members. Current and past corp members that served in Kogi State have added value wherever they are posted to in the state. Their commitment and selfless service to the national is unrivaled.
For Ojo Oluwadare Francis (state code number is KG/16A/2461), one of the immediate past corp members that served in the state, establishment of an apiary (Bee farm) was his special community development service.
Francis served as a fishery department staff in the Ministry of Agriculture, Lokoja, Kogi state. During the course of his service year, he was able to set up an apiary in the Ministry. The Beefarm is located at the back of store, in the ministry.
This selfless project earned Francis a State Merit Award.
