Ahead of the Election Tribunal sitting slated for Saturday, 23rd May 2020 where the legitimate winner of the 2019 governorship election would be decided, an ex Campuslife reporter, Israel Arogbonlo has called on the former to uphold justice in their judgement.

Arogbonlo, a Lagos based journalist, made this known in a press release issued on Thursday.

According to him, “The judiciary which is the hope of the common man must ensure that the will of Kogites is not been subverted for the highest bidder.”

He continued; “It is pertinent to note that, while every Kogite is anticipating for the D-day, their hope only lies in the truthfulness of the tribunal to bring into limelight the wheel of justice.

“In their part, the tribunal must ensure that the will of the people is not been exchanged for money but rather uphold the tenets of democracy, which give equal treatment to everyone in a political sphere. Any attempt by the Election Petition Tribunal judges to collect bribe from any of the party in question, will be a great disservice not only to the people of Kogi State but to the democracy of Nigeria at large.

“Hence, it is in the onus of the judges to uphold justice while deciding who becomes the governor of the state as based on the guidelines provided by law.”

He further urged the concerned persons, Gov Yahaya Bello and Engr Musa Wada to accept whatever becomes the decision of the tribunal, adding the development and progress of the state is what matter most.

In his closing remarks, the media strategist advised the people to be law abiding and accept the verdict of the tribunal as in the best interest of the state.
