Kogi Govt. Approves State Health Insurance Scheme for Civil Servants

In her commitment to ensure that health care services are affordable and accessible, Kogi State Government, on Wednesday, approved the establishment of State Health Insurance Agency for civil servants in the state.

According to Governor Yahaya Bello, the health scheme which would be headed by an Agency, was established to reduce the cost of health care on the state workers.

The Governor who spoke through the State Director General of Media and Publicity, Fanwo Kingsley during a press briefing in Government House, Lokoja, said extensive deliberation was made at the state executive council meeting to facilitate and quicken the establishment of the proposed health scheme.

He also said an executive bill was sent to the State House of Assembly for a swift consideration and approval, as the scheme would be a giant stride by the administration to revamp and restructure the state’s health service for the benefit of all.
