Coalition of political parties under the auspices of Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) has appealed to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to honour his promise to appoint members of opposition into his government.

In a statement issued by the chairman, Kogi state chapter of IPAC, Ukwenya Musa, in Lokoja on Monday, the opposition parties said it is quite worrisome that appointments into this administration has been serverally announced and none of its members are considered in spite of the numerous roles played in the re-election of Governor Bello.

IPAC recalled that sixteen governorship candidates of the coalition of political parties endorsed Bello’s second term bid and worked assidously to ensure he won the 2019 election.

They called for an inclusive government that will see members of the coalition appointed into Bello’s cabinet.

“The Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), which is the umbrella body of political parties, wish to draw the attention of Governor Yahaya Bello to the plight of the coalition of political parties that endorsed his second term bid in the 2019 gubernatorial election.

“We call for a unity government as promised us by Governor Yahaya Bello in 2019. IPAC is using this medium to appeal to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to honour his promises, even as he has overwhelmingly fulfilled the inclusiveness of women into this administration.

“As the most gender friendly Governor in Nigeria, it will be highly commendable to be named as the most opposition friendly public office holder in Nigeria.

“IPAC considers the ‘winner takes all’ syndrome as one of the major problems in the nation’s politics and hope Governor Bello will correct this and engrave his name in gold as a pace-setter in uniting all political parties as he becomes the next president of Nigeria.

“We hope the next president of Nigeria, our own Governor, will set a standard that would be emulated by others in Nigeria,” he said.

IPAC stated that a government of unity will reduce tension and acrimony in the land, giving room for peace and tranquility needed for development.
