A group under the aegis of Igala- Bassa Alliance for Buhari Continuity (IBABC) said President Muhammadu Buhari remains the most credible leader that the nation has ever produced, and only him can stop the diversion of common wealth for personal use.
The IBABC national coordinator, Umar Pharooq Akwu, popularly known as Goodman dropped this hints at the weekend in Lokoja to journalists, stressing that with such a pedigree of president Buhari, the Igala-Bassa speaking people of the east flank of Kogi state will vote massively for him, to revalidate his mandate for another 4years in office.
Explaining, Akwu said the group is already networking around the PVC holders in the district in order to deliver the entire votes to Buhari/Osinbajo, the All Progressive Congress(APC)candidate for them to win at the polls in the forthcoming presidential election.
The group who promised to work hard and deliver massive votes to make Buhari/Osinbajo shine at the polls to ensure an uninterrupted 8-year stretch in power, noted that a return ticket for the duo will make them to consolidate on the restoring the dignity of the nation, where all Nigerians will be proud of.
The APC chieftain urged Nigerians to be ready to use their PVC to block those who will take over power in the country, but will rule it from abroad, adding that it takes disciplinarian and God fearing leader in the mould of president Buhari and his deputy, professor Yemi Osinbajo to rescue the country from the hands of the abductors and return it back on its tracks.
“Nigerians cannot continue to be managed by Yahoo-Yahoo- people, whereby every government property will be cornered by those entrusted with power. We are appealing to the electorate of Igala – Bassa speaking people of the east district of Kogi state not be carried away by the bureau de charge operators disguising as leaders”, he said.
While the national coordinator of IBABC, urged the people in the east axis of Kogi state to be careful with moneybags politicians that sees politics as business, rather than welfare of the people, Akwu averred that since 1960, it is the present government at the centre that has laid solid foundation for structure/institutions for a better nation tomorrow.
He said, “President Muhammadu Buhari releases Paris fund refund in billions of dollars to all states governor, as well as bail out funds to settle backlog of workers salaries and pensioners entitlements; paid defunct Biafra pensioners, NITEL workers and depressed and rejected Airways staff; sacked the Secretary to the Federal government over corruption allegation;Rehabilitating Railways, Airports and construction of second Niger bridge as well as recovery of public funds which runs into billions of naira diverted to personal use, besides trying and jailing of looters of public funds, including state governors and head of agencies/parastatals”.
The IBABC national coordinator who said “if there is no pains, there will be no gains” said the present hardships was caused by mismanagement and diversion of public funds by consecutive administrations at the Federal and State levels, with impunity , saying, it takes time to clear the Augean stable that was so messed up for years.
