Kogi Sate Governor Captain Idris Wada on Monday commissioned a three new ultra modern hostel blocks at the main campus of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

Capt Wada while commissioning the hostel blocks reassured that the State government will continue to provide a conducive atmosphere for learning for the students in all state owned Institutions.

The Kogi state Governor said that it only a conducive environment that can produce good leadership tomorrow.

Wada urged the management of the Institution to ensure judicious use of these hostels blocks and however called on the students to take good of the hostel blocks so the generation yet unborn will use the facilities.

Wada cautioned the students of tertiary institution to shun cultism and other vices that are inimical to their future or face the wrath of the law.

According to him, two students of the state university were killed recently on the campus as a result of skirmish between cultists, warning that the present administration would not tolerate cultism in all the tertiary institution in the state.

He added that any student caught in the act of criminality within campuses will face the wrath of the law, stressing that government has zero tolerance to cultism.

The governor who said the hostels project in the polytechnic was his second assignment within two weeks of his assumption of office as the chief executive of the state, noted that his administration is desirous of providing conducive environment for learning to enable the higher institution in the state churn out employable graduates.

Earlier, the Rector of the polytechnic, Professor Matthew Idowu Ajibero in his speech appealed to the governor for the furnishing of the hostels, completion of the ongoing road projects and provision of a dedicated water base at the main campus, Lokoja to solve high rate of shortage of water.

He warned students against vandalism and misuse of facilities on campus, saying, “you are to take care of the facilities and leave them for your brothers and sisters coming after you.”
