Sustaining Winning Streak: North Central Reconciliation Team Meets With Kogi PDP Stakeholders

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State have been told to see the current challenge facing the party as one that is surmountable, and not enough to stop the winning streak of the party.

Alh Mohammed Haliru, former PDP National Chairman and former Minister of Defense, Stated this as leader of the delegation, when the North Central reconciliation committee constituted by the National Chairman of the party visited the state to interact with members on how to strengthen the party ahead of the 2015 general election.

Describing the PDP as a party of national integration that will take the country to higher heights, Alh Haliru called on the people of Kogi State to be patient with the party in moving the nation forward.

The former PDP National Chairman described the PDP in Kogi State as a very strong and united party, said the are in the state to integrate the party for it to go into the 2015 general election towards improving the fortune of the party in the state.

Alh Haliru further disclosed that there visit to the state was to further reconcile factions if need be, and to seek ways and strategies for the general elections in 2015.

The former Minister commended the giant strides of achievements witnessed under the present administration amidst scarce resources, urged the people to continue in their support now and in the future.

Also speaking, Alh Yusuf Ayitogo, North Central Zonal Chairman of PDP described Kogi State as one of the state that has delivered for the party in the previous elections, commended the people for their loyalty and called for their steadfastness.

The North Central Zonal Chairman, challenged the members of the party to rally round and support all of the party’s candidates for the 2015 general elections.

In his remarks, Alh Hassan Salau, State Chairman of the PDP, said the party in Kogi State is not in crisis, assured that the Party will continue to dominate in all election.

Alh Salau, described Kogi as a PDP state commended president Goodluck Jonathan and Gov Idris Wada as worthy ambassadors of the party.

Highlights of the meeting was an interactive session with members of the party who all bared their minds on ways to move the party in the state forward.

The PDP members commended the courage and bold steps taken by the committee to visit the state,called for patronage and empowerment from all tiers of government as a reward system to encourage loyalty and commitment.
