Summer Basketball Camp: Federal University Lokoja Aims to Promotes Peace Through Sports

The Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, FUL, Professor Abdulmumini Radindadi has disclosed that the institution would continue to direct youths positively through sports in its immediate community.

Professor Rafindadi gave the assurance at the press conference to herald the First FUL/Basketball For Peace Annual Summer Basketball Camp in Lokoja.

He said the institution’s aim of the program was to use sports in making in the lives of youth in the state and country at large.

“I want to make bold to say again that we at Federal University Lokoja want to use sports to make a difference in the lives of youths in the state in particular and the country in general and so this camp is the beginning of such an intention,” begins the FUL VC.

“It is apparent that the intention of the university is to touch the lives of youths through the instrument of sports as one of her cardinal outreach programmes.

“We know that we still have a long way to go in our efforts to achieve the desired results in sports development here in the University but with organizations such as the Basketball for Peace (BB4P) and public spirited individuals” contribution we will be able to reach our fundamental goal,” said Professor Rafindadi.

He commended the institution management for accepting the Summer Camp to take place just as thanked the Kogi state ministry of education for partnering with the University for successful staging of the camp.
