A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi West Senatorial District, Otunba Jide Pedro has expressed his confidence in the party to win the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state.
Otunba Pedro who disclosed this to The Graphic in an exclusive interview in Lokoja, stated that the party leader in the state, Governor Idris Wada has put necessary machinery in place to address critical issues that have hitherto brought dissatisfaction between the party and the people of the state.
He further stated that major stakeholders of the party in the state have been strategizing in ensuring that issues that negatively contributed to the poor performance of the party in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections are addressed squarely.
Otunba Pedro said,’’ to the best of my knowledge, the State Executive Council of the party which contributed in no small measure and the attitude of larger than life of some aspirants or candidates of the party will leave very soon and we will witness a more united and winning party’’.
Otunba Pedro who is also the Special Assistant to the state governor on water resources, appealed to the party faithfuls to be more united and focused on issues that can build, reconstruct and strengthen the party for the purpose of winning the next gubernatorial election.
The Special Assistant said the governor is poised to improve the welfare of civil servants and local government workers in the state, pointing out that arrangements are in pipeline to implement programmes that will have positive improvement on their lives.
He commended the governor for his exemplary leadership skills and sought for the support of the people of the state in ensuring the success of his administration and prayed to God to give him divine wisdom in successful execution of his lofty ideas to the success of the party in the state
