The former Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens Football Clubs, Mallam Abdul Adama has returned the over five hundred thousand naira wrongfully paid into his account back to the Kogi state government.

We reliably gathered that Adama, who also served as Special Adviser to Governor of Kogi State on Public Private Partnership (PPP), returned the said sum to the office of the Secretary to the State Government yesterday in Lokoja.

Abdul Adama had on 1st of April 2015 resigned his appointments as Special Adviser and Chairman of the state-owned football clubs for personal reasons.

A staff at the SSG’s office who confirmed the patriotic return of post-resignation salary, saluted Adama’s sincerity and equally enjoined other former appointees and retired civil servants to emulate Mallam Abdul Adama. He said that the Adama’s gesture in this era of economic hardship suggests that there are still “good Nigerians”.

Adama challenged the Secretary to the State Government to immediately conduct an audit to see how many other retired political officers in the state are still living off the state purse.
