Okugo Community Happy Over Provision of Relief Materials

Kogi   State Government has been commended for timely intervention by providing relief materials for the victims of communal crises that engulfed Okugo community in Olamaboro Local Government Area.

The Chairman of Okugo Community Elder’s Forum, (OCEF), Mr. Thomas Ekpa, gave the commendation in an exclusive chat with The Graphic in Lokoja, the State capital.

He said the community had witnessed crises that led to the destruction of property worth over N2million, noting that the timely provision of the relief materials including food items , mattresses and roofing sheets , has no doubt, improved the welfare of the victims.

Mr. Ekpa also thanked the State Emergency Management Agency [SEMA] and the National Emergeny Management Agency [NEMA] for their humanitarian services and moral support for the victims and the entire community during their trying moments.

The Chairman who noted the transformation agenda of the State Government with satisfaction, urged the governor to complete the construction of Ogugu-Ikemu-Ogbonicha road which links Olamaboro with Ofu Local Government Area, to ameliorate the suffering of the rural dwellers.

He expressed the community’s unalloyed support for Governor Wada saying “we are willing to vote for him come 2015 governorship election in view of his achievements”.
