During a reconciliatory meeting held at Lokoja by Governor Wada for PDP gladiators from Okene, Mr. Isiaka Ekade A.K.A Akanson had told the governor that ‘EYIRE’, his clan and ‘OGU’ Yahaya Karaku’s clan are the two most dominant clans in okene and further assured the governor that only these two clans can deliver the constituency for PDP.

Results of the just concluded state assembly election in okene I has revealed and shown that Akanson lied. Despite all the huge sum of money released by the PDP government, there unsellable candidate was defeated by the APC candidate, Lawi AT Ahmed with over 700 votes.

Surprisingly, the PPA candidate, Abdulrasheed Adabara Ovosi who decamped from PDP barely few days to election as a result of injustices meted on him by the defeated PDP senate candidate for Kogi Central, Ahmed Salau Ogembe in the last year PDP primaries pulled over 2000 votes with a party without leader, an indication that he is more popular than the PDP candidate, Abdulhamid Momoh, the man from Upogoro/Odenku in Okene II.

Gov. Wada should learn from these and know that Okene of today is far different from Okene of yester-years. The young ones are growing and the earlier the governor take note of it, the better for him in his re-election bid. “A word is enough for the wise”.
