Mopa Amuro PDP: No Longer Business As Usual – Awoniyi

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, has assured that it will no longer be business as usual in the way the affairs
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be run in Mopamuro LGA, of Kogi State.

Awoniyi disclosed that the party under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan and Alh. Adamu Muazu, is now more than ever before poised to be people centered, with power derived from the people.

The State Deputy Governor gave the assurance at a meeting held in Mopa with PDP members of Mopamuro LGA.

The meeting was geared towards repositioning the party for greater challenges ahead the 2015 elections.

Awoniyi assured of every assistance to members who have been committed to the party, commended the members for their patience and perseverance in the midst of the economic down turn that is being experienced at all tiers of government.

The Deputy Governor lauded the PDP members for their steadfastness with the party, describing Mopamuro LGA as home of the PDP.

Awoniyi assured of support to farmers, sportsmen, motorcycle riders, the youths and women from the area, promising that all the complain made by the various speakers, has been noted with the promise to address them in the interest of the party.

Awoniyi promised the people of constant interaction that will close the noticed communication gaps amongst members, said there is a new thinking in the PDP that is geared towards an improved well being of the people.

In his speech, Hon Funsho Daniyan, Council Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, said the administration will continuously strive to improve the living condition of the people as a way of furthering the party’s chances in future elections in the area.

In his opening remarks, Hon William Shogo, PDP Chairman, Mopamuro LGA, said the meeting was called to seek ways to make the party formidable and to also interact with some aggrieved members of the party.

Hon Shogo assured that the party intends to present only credible candidates who will deliver victory for the party in the next year’s general election, appealed to members of the party to improve on their human relationship to allow for new members to embrace the party programs and policies.

In their separate remarks, representatives from all the ten Wards in the area spoke their minds on challenges confronting the members and ways to improve the chances of the party in future elections.

The members appealed for more attention in the area of improved welfare and infrastructural development, assuring that they will continue to support the present administration of Capt Idris Wada.
