Kogi State Governor Idris Wada said at the weekend the mega truck terminal and Kogi hotels’ projects will generate revenue and boost economy of the state when completed.

Wada, who said this after inspecting the two projects, reiterated the commitment of his administration to providing quality projects that would have direct impact on the lives of the people.

According to him, the mega terminal which has carrying capacity for 250 trucks at a time, would go a long way in generating income for the state, adding that the project would also improve economy of the people who own shops and sell items along the area.

“The state stands to earn a lot of money from the project. It will also provide quality services to road transport workers and reduce gridlock as a result of  parking by the road side; many economic activities will be generated here which will invariably benefit the people and the government that established it”, Wada said.

While expressing satisfaction with the  quality of jobs executed by the contractors, the governor  urged them to maintain the contract specifications to enable the state government  to continue patronizing  them.

Earlier, the state chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Sam Ihuotu recalled that he was commissioned  by the  federal government to develop mega terminal in all the 36 states of the federation about four years ago but none had taken off except that of Kogi State.
