KSU Graduates 10 First Class Students

The Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, has produced 10 first class graduates in the 2011 and 2014 academic sessions.

 

Vice chancellor of the university, Prof Hassan Salihu Isa, disclosed this during the third convocation ceremony of the institution.

 

Amongst the 10 first-class graduates, Achimugu Peter Urane of the Department of Mathematics emerged the institution’s overall best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.74.

 

 

Other students with first class honours include David Olubumi (Philosophy and Religious Studies), Okutachi Ojochegbe Sunday

 

(Biochemistry), Abah Onyaole Charity (Biochemistry), Ubituogwale Edoja Michael (Geology) and Zhiya Wumani Victor (Physics), Alfa Ojonugwa Nicholas (Food and Science Technology), Abdulmalik Sunday Etudaiye (Animal Production), Idachaba Innocent Odekina (Banking and Finance) and Enesi Latifat Oyiza (Mathematical Sciences).

 

He said a total of 1,029 students graduated with second class upper, 4,266 with second class lower, 1,517 with third class and 150 with pass degrees.

 

According to the vice chancellor, the university has witnessed astronomical increase in student enrollment from the initial figure of 750 students in 2000 to 23,264 students in 2015.

 

He said KSU had witnessed development in the area of physical infrastructure, quality of lecturers and graduates, and calledfor more support from government and other organisations for the continuous growth of the university.
