#KogiGovRace: Youth Group Endorse Dr Yaqeen Habeeb

A group, Kogi Youths Vanguard, has thrown it weight behind the clamour to elect All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Dr Yaqeen Abdullahi Habeeb as next governor of Kogi state.

The Youth group endorsed Dr. Habeeb as their preferred candidate among the over twenty aspirants jostling for APC sole ticket for the 2015 Kogi State gubernatorial election.

In a statement signed by the President of the group, Samuel Taiwo, the group resolved to endorse Dr Habeeb as the best man for the Lugard House in recognition of his dedication and commitment towards the growth of the state through his sacrificial and humanitarian services.

“Dr Yaqeen Abdullahi Habeeb is someone who so much has the interest of the youths at heart. He has in so many ways inspired youths to overcome difficulties to achieve success.

“It is no doubt that Abdullahi Habeeb is endowed with strong leadership quality of inspiring people, make friends, honesty, dedication and perfection are parts and parcel of the qualities you possess.

In fact and indeed, Kogi state people of the state has remained a classical case of failed dream, dashed hope ans unrealised aspiration of our founding fathers.

Therefore, having watched with great pain the continuously declining fortunes of the people of Kogi state and the gross descent of government to outright failure and realising the need to rekindle the hope of the people for good governance and return the state to the dreams and vision of its founding fathers.

“We have decided to seek the mandate of teaming members of our great party the All Progressive Congress (APC) to fly its flag as its candidate in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state,” Taiwo said.

In a response, Dr Hakeem accepted the endorsement and promised not to disappoint the group and the people of the state if given the mandate.

He assured that he is already making concerted efforts at wooing international agencies, Kogi indigenes in diaspora among his several plans to revive the state.

“I am grateful for the endorsement and I want to assure you that I will not fail you and the citizen of Kogi state. And I mean everything I have said. I am highly committed to developing Kogi State.

He assured that he will engage the youths and turn them from executive beggars to being self-reliant.
