A former acting governor of Kogi State, Mr Clarence Olafemi yesterday declared his interest to contest the November 21 governorship election in Kogi on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Olafemi, a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the APC and ex-Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, is joining over 20 APC aspirants who are jostling to fly the party’s flag at the November governorship poll. Declaring his interest for the contest in Lokoja, Mr Olafemi said he made the decision after careful observation of the sorry condition the state had found itself after 24 years of its creation.

According to him, the inability of those at the helm of affairs to actualise the dream of the people motivated him to join the race and salvage the situation. He said he had proved his worth during the short period he acted as governor of the state.
