The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada, has said that his administration in the last three and half years has been able to lay a solid foundation in Agriculture, human capital development, industrial and infrastructure development among others.

The governor also assured the people of the state that he will consolidate on his achievements of over three years if given another mandate to govern the state.

Addressing a PDP gathering at Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of the state during the flag off of the campaign rally of the PDP, ahead of the November 21 governorship election in the state, he said if given the mandate to serve in the next four years as the governor of the state, he would work harder to transform the state for the benefit of the entire people of the state.

While commending the people for giving him the desired total support, the governor maintained that accountability and prudent management of resources would be his watchdog to ensure that the agenda of his administration is pursued to a logical conclusion.

Speaking at the rally, the immediate former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, lambasted those alleging that he is planning to defect to the All Progressive Party (APC), describing the claim as “falsehood of the century”.

His words: “how can I abandon a house I participated in building for a house that is not rooted in the state. I was the first governor on the platform of PDP in the state, no matter what has happened, I can not abandon the party for APC because APC has no place in the state”.

While appealing to PDP supporters and loyalists to be patient with the incumbent governor in the area of transformation of the state, the former governor said it is not easy for a leader to build castles on the sky, assuring that with adequate planning and available resources, Captain Wada would do more for the betterment of the state.

Also in his address, the state Chairman of PDP, Engineer Sam Ohuotu said that the people of the three senatorial districts in the state have resolved to support and return Captain Wada for his transparency, accountability and prudent management of the state’s resources.

He promised that the people of the state would never regret if they cast their votes for Wada at the November 21, 2015 governorship election.
