The newly registered party, Democratic People’s Congress has nominated governorship candidates for the forthcoming Kogi elections. Comrade Ezekiel Koleola Philips emerged the Party’s governorship candidate for Kogi State.

According to the statement signed by the National Chairman, Olusegun Peters, a seasoned politician, activist and philanthropist, Comrade Philips is an accountant by profession and holds a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

A grassroots politician, Phillips, the statement said, was determined to transform Kogi State and set it on the path of development, advancement and progress that would meet the yearnings of the long-suffering people of the state.

The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide a level-playing field for the political parties contesting the elections and ensure that card readers were used to avoid electoral malpractices.

Kogite must we allow corruption to thrive successfully in this our Kogi State? Noooo! I take exceptions to what the public are celebrating today, between Prince Abubakar Audu of APC and Capt. Idris Wada of PDP: This is a scenario of DILEMMA! I have received calls and chats from our youths in Diaspora on the candidature of Hon. PHILIPS EZEKIEL KOLEOLA, the gubernatorial candidate from Democratic People’s Congress (DPC) to be placed side-by-side with these old thief, obviously He’s by far more than those old thief. Now, I call on the well-meanings Nigerian to take a decisive decision to vote for PEK in this election. Don’t justify Wada or paint Audu acceptability just because of token amount that doesn’t worth it. We come soon! Watch out! The antecedent on these contestants with PEK calls for a total condemnation in strong term their agitation to get into Lugard House again.
