The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF is kick–starting its pledge to ensure that the Senior National Team, Super Eagles is engaged for all the FIFA –free days available next year with selected Grade-A friendly match against countries participating at the African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea in January.
The Super Eagles will confront 1992 African champions Cote d’Ivoire, whom they edged 2-1 in the quarter finals in South Africa, on 9th January, and take on fellow Eagles of Mali, who were overhauled 4-1 by the Nigerians in the semi finals in South Africa, four days later.
Ammeh, who joined Kogi United at the interval of the just concluded Nigeria National League, NNL season from TEAP FC was named alongside 23 other home based professionals.
On hearing the news of his invitation, Ammeh said “Wow, that’s surprise. I’m short of words, that at 18 years I will get a chance to play for my country senior side is an opportunity that doesn’t come often, you know what you’ve done to me with this news, my joy knows no bound, I’m excited,” said Ammeh.
The Kogi-born left-footer however promised he would give all he has to make his inclusion count positively and be a good ambassador of his club and country.
“I hope to make good use of this opportunity, I will not disappoint those that believe and trust what I’m doing to get this chance, my family, my team mates, my club and my country.
The 24 players are expected to report at the Bolton White Apartments, Abuja on Sunday, 28th December with their international passports and four passport photographs ahead of the friendlies slated for 9th and 13 of January, 2015.
