Two middle aged men have been arrested by the police for abducting a young boy for rituals in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

It was judgement day for the men who said that their appetite to get rich quick made them commit the heinous crime.

While parading the kidnappers and another suspect who was arrested for being in possession of fire arms at the State Police Headquarters in Lokoja, the State Police Commissioner, Sai’du Madawaki, said the suspects were arrested by some intelligent unit officers.

“The boy was kidnapped and taken to Abuja, but with intelligence information, we were able to apprehend them,” he said.

Nemesis caught up with Adams Baba, 32  and Mohammed Sanni, 37, whose intention was to use the 10-year old boy, Momoh Sani, for rituals in Abuja.

The two kidnappers tricked the boy and drove him to Abuja with a vehicle with an Abuja registration number ABC 425 AE.

The two kidnappers, who are the boy’s neighbour before the demise of Momoh Sani’s father, confessed that they wanted to use the boy for money making but tried to push the blame on one another.

The police said the men would be charged to court after investigations.

Several courts in Nigeria have sentenced persons found guilty of ritual killings to death.
