Kogi state government yesterday said it has commenced the payments of three months’ salary arrears owed to workers in the 21 local government areas in the state.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the governor on Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, directed all council areas that are yet to submit their payrolls to do so without further delay for onward payment to workers.

The statement, which was signed by the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Mr. Akpata Jordan, indicated that payment of full salaries has commenced in line with the promise made by the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello during the silver jubilee celebration of the state few days ago.
While commending the co-operation and patience of the local government workers on the ongoing complains and review exercise of the last screening report, the Special Adviser restated the ministry’s commitment to the welfare of all the council workers, urging them to sustain their patience and loyalty.
