Kogi is Most Suitable For Mining and Agro-Allied Investments – Wada

Investors wanting to invest in a suitable environment, particularly in the Agro Allied and the Mineral Sectors have been asked to let their arrows point to Kogi State.

Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada stated this at a dinner organized in honour of the Nigerian Navy, during the Chief of Naval Staff Conference holden in Lokoja.

Capt Wada described Kogi State as an investors haven due to its natural endowment, relative security and the policy thrust of the administration which he noted is centered on good governance, human capital development with emphasis on education, health, agriculture and agricultural development.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said the administration has remained focused and maintained that its performance which is anchored on a blueprint, with inbuilt milestones and self regulating mechanism has remained unwavered.

Capt Wada commended the relationship existing between the state government and the Nigerian Navy expressed the state’s optimism in an expanded NNS Lugard that will help add value to the internal security of the state and its vast inland waterways.

The Governor added that the expanded Naval Unit is expected to also play a vital role on the existing search and rescue as well as support socio- economic outfits of the state.

In his remarks, Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman, Chief of Naval Staff, said the 2014 Chief of Naval Staff Conference allowed for effective discussion, geared towards moving the Nigerian Navy forward as it pertains to the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Vice Admiral Usman described the 2014 CONSAC as very successful, drawing together nine past service chiefs of the Navy, whose experienced he noted added to the conference recommendation, commended the Kogi State Government for making the conference a huge success.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, Air Commodore Matti Abdullahi (rtd), Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Kogi State Governor, said the conference through intellectual discourse tackled issues aimed at repositioning the Nigerian Navy, said the Conference came at a better time in view of the current insecurity challenges facing the nation.
