Kogi Govt To Construct 12 Public Toilets in Kpata and Kabawa Areas of Lokoja

An approval has been given by the Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada,  for the construction of twelve public toilets in Kpata and Kabawa areas of Lokoja.

Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor made the disclosed at a briefing, said the intention of Government to build the toilets is geared towards checking open defecation. He pointed out that Capt Idris Wada is resolved at improving the sanitary condition of Kabawa area and its environs.

Awoniyi, added that the State Government has also awarded the contract for the building of embankment along the shoreline of Kabawa to check the perennial flooding, said the contract was awarded to Chizali Nigeria Limited.

The embankment Awoniyi, explained will check breaching of water on the road, caused by yearly flooding, said payment of compensation to those who had homes on the road and a proper re settlement policy of Government is what has delayed the commencement of work.

Awoniyi, added that the State capital would soon wear a new look when the dualization work from welcome to Lokoja to the International Market road is completed, said the road which would have street lights, walkways, was awarded to CGC Nigeria Limited.
