Kogi Govt Looks Into Cases of Dropped Council Workers

Kogi state government says it is looking into the cases of those employed in 2010 but dropped from the employment of Local Government Councils in the state.

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi made the disclosure on government plans, programs and policies, while on a consultative visit to Iyah Gbede, Ijumu LGA to meet with PDP critical stakeholders.

Awoniyi disclosed that another four years for Capt Idris Wada, will change things dramatically in the state, said the governor has learn the ropes of governance already.

Awoniyi says government was looking into the issues of pensioners, teachers and salaries of local government workers, with a view to settling the backlog when it receives its bail out from the federal government.

Awoniyi solicited the support of the critical stakeholders to the PDP and government of Capt Idris Wada, described Ijumu as the bastion of PDP with the party having won in all elections during the general elections.

Awoniyi commended the quality of leadership and followership of the PDP in Ijumu LGA, said PDP remains the party to beat in the state.

While noting that Capt Idris Wada amidst the paucity of funds has done well within limited resources,  appreciated that a lot more work needs to be done, reason, why the need to work for the victory of PDP in the forth coming governorship election.

Awoniyi described the present administration as one that inherited and pays the highest salaries in the North, described the state as one of the least indebted in salaries to workers, appealed to the PDP members in Ijumu to conduct themselves in a rancour free manner while selecting three Ward adhoc delegates for the party’s primaries.

In their separate remarks, General David Jemibewon, Prince Olushola Akanmode, and Chief Abiodun Ojo, said the resolve for Ijumu people to work for the Capt Wada victory in the forth coming general election, describing the administration as presently constituted as the best for the state. They called on the people to remain committed to the ideal of the PDP, disclosing that, the area stands to gain more under the Wada led administration and the PDP.

In a remarks, Dare Osawu, SSA1, Ijumu LGA, called on the members of the party to maintain their winning streak, disclosing that the PDP has been dominate in the area since the advent of democracy.

In a welcome remarks, Alh Ibrahim Idris, PDP Chairman, Ijumu LGA, commended the moves by the Deputy Governor, to reawaken the consciousness of the members of the party ahead the forth coming party’s primaries and the general election.
