The aged and elderly in the state have been assured of government attention through payment of regular Pension and other social welfare packages.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi gave the assurance when he hosted the elders of Mopamuro LGA.
The Deputy Governor said the meeting with the elders became necessary, as government is committed to tap from their wealth of wisdom.
The Deputy Governor said the present administration of Capt Idris Wada, has high regards and integrity for the elderly, said efforts is on for a comprehensive package that will improve their well-being.
Awoniyi solicited the prayers of the elders for the present administration, prayed God them long life that will enable the administration tap from their fountain of wisdom.
Awoniyi appealed to the people to embrace the programmes and policies of the PDP that is progressive and has zero tolerant to violence
In their separate remarks, the elders commended the initiative of meeting with them, praised the Deputy Governor for his peaceful approach to politics, assured of their continuous support to the present administration.
