An aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for Kogi East Senatorial seat, Abdulrahman Abubakar has called on the national leadership of the party not to recognise Senator Attai Idoko Ali as the flag-bearer of the party.

Abubakar is also calling on the party to declare him winner of the recently conducted party primary in the zone and to discipline the out going acting zonal chairman of the party, Saidu Odoma for “gross indiscipline.”

He made this known in a petition dated  December 8, 2014, addressed to the PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and national organising secretary Abubakar Mustapha.

He said before the incident, votes of four contestants were counted. According to him, Adejoh Ali Obaje scored 1 vote, Capt Joe Agada 1 vote, Halima Alfa 80 votes, Isaac Alfa 129 votes.

He added that Ali had only 28 votes.

“Giving him our party’s ticket is to donate the senatorial seat to the opposition on a platter of gold. Ali has repeated exactly what he did in 2011 before leaving our party for the ANPP at that time,” he said.

Abubakar threatened to seek legal redress if justice is not done by the national leadership of the party.
