The National President of Iyara Development Movement (IDM), Mr. Benjamin Femi Ojo, has appealed to Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, to complete the community township roads.

Mr Ojo said that work has actually started on the roads but stopped halfway, pointing out that this had hindered movement as well as slowed down economic and social activities in the area.

Mr Ojo, who made the appeal in his welcome address at the 2015 annual Iyara Day celebration held in Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area, lamented the deplorable state of the roads, stating that the roads are not motor-able.

While commending the state Governor, Capt. Wada for the award of the road project and his interest in the town, he appealed to him to fulfil his promise of upgrading the Eleta Oluyara stool to a first class status.

Mr. Ojo pointed out that the purpose of the launching of 50 million naira development fund is to execute some longstanding projects in the town that would make positive impact on the lives of the people.

According to him, the town has over the years embarked on self-help projects with the little resources available to it and assured the people that their contributions to the development of the town would not be in vain.

Speaking at the occasion, a community leader and immediate past President of Ijumu Development Movement (IDM), Brother Joseph Dare, said the community decided to raise funds to provide for educational needs of the community as well as embark on water projects in the community.
