The people of Ichalla community in Ikah, Ankpa local government area of Kogi State have appealed to the state governor, Capt Idris Wada to urgently come to their aid as they may soon be cut off from the rest of the local government because of the poor condition of their road.

Making the appeal at a press briefing in Lokoja , the leader of the community, Dr Paul Akpa stated that in the last couple of years, due to the condition of the road, Ikah community has suffered neglect.

He said the people who are mostly farmers have the products like rice, cassava and yam perished as there was no way to transport the products from hinterland.

Akpa stressed that this is the only community in the state where is no state’s presence, even the local government has failed in its responsibility of ensuring that the people were carried along in all state and local government matters.

He stated that being the birth place of the present governor, Capt Idris Ichalla Wada, the people of the community were supposed to feel the presence of the present administration, especially in road construction to link the people with their kinsmen outside.
