Dirt: Epidemics Looms In Kogi

Residents of Lokoja, capital of Kogi State, are worried over the heap of dirt that overwhelm the streets of the town.

The stench from the dirt cause travelers passing through the ancient city to cover their nose with handkerchief and other materials .

Against this backdrop, the State House Assembly summoned the general manager, Alhaji Abdullai Hussaini, who told the them the poor situation of the sanitation board.

He stated, during cross examination, that the board had only two vans for the entire city and that both had broken down.

He further stressed that it was always difficult for the board to access fund for the maintenance of the vehicles.

Consequently, the state Assembly urged the government to urgently fix the broken down vehicles to avoid epidemics.
