Capt Wada Sets Up Committe to Review Process of Selecting Attah Igala

In order to give room for other ruling houses to the throne of Atttah Igala, the Kogi state Governor has constituted a seven man committee to look into the procedures for accession to the throne.

Setting up the committee according Governor, Captain Idris Wada had become imperative in order to ensure peaceful means of accession to the Attah stool.

“It is the responsibility of government to ensure healthy selection and appointment of Attah Igala among the four ruling houses of the stool in the order of rotation” he said.

He regretted the crisis that rocked the selection of the new Attah Igala after the demised of the immediate late Attah Igala, Alhaji Aliyu Obaje and vowed that effort must be made to avert the development in the future.

” Am committed to ensure fair system of rotation among the four ruling houses of the Attah Igala Stool” the Governor further assured.

He charged the committee members to be fair and transparent in their findings as the governor gave three weeks within which to complete the assignment.

The committee has Chief John Egwemi, the Onu Uje and Eje Ibaji as the Chairman. Other members include; Badama Kadiri from the Kogi state Attorney General’s office, Ahigba Atuluku, Abuh Jibrin, Dr. Paul Amodu, Chief Emmnuel Atawodi and Matthew Daikwo, Director Ministry of Chieftaincy affairs who will serve as Secretary to the committee.

Responding, the chairman of the committee, Chief John Egwemi thanked the governor for finding them worthy to serve and promised that they will deliver.
