The School authority of America Intercontinental University in America which Hon. Ahmed Ogembe Salawu claimed to have been enrolled for his higher education yesterday confirmed his Masters Degree certificate.
The confirmation was sequel to EAGLE REPORTERS’s letter to the school authority where the media sought to know more about Hon. Salawu Ahmed Ogembe’s university education having claimed in our earlier report that he is a holder of Bachelor Degree and Master Degree.
The Document Coordinator of AIU Centralized Registrar Services of the institution, Mrs Anita DeRossett in a response letter addressed to this media dated 2nd March 2015 said Hon. Salawu Ahmed Ogembe was a former Student of the institution.
Giving an insight into the academic record of Salawu Ahmed Ogembe, she said ‘he received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a graduation date of 3/22/2005 and Master of Business Administration program with graduation date of 4/1/2006 from America Intercontinental University.
Recalled that his educational qualification has been a subject of discussion following the submission of his Secondary School Certificate to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a minimum qualification expected of any political contestant in Nigeria.
Many had capitalized on this to run campaign of calumny on his person. Supporters of his opponent had averred that he was not educated enough to represent the people of Kogi Central at the hollow Chamber of the Senate in the National Assembly and as such should not be voted.
This campaign of calumny not only affected his personal but caused serious set-back to his campaign as many see him as one who cannot stand tall in the senate, a house with good number of high educated individuals.
The attack on his person therefore prompted him to disclose to the public that he bagged Degree and MBA in Business administration from America Intercontinental University in America. He equally averred in our earlier report that his resolve to submit his least qualification was not because he has no higher education certificate to present but noted that he was not under duress by the constitution to submit his higher education to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Hon. Salawu Ahmed Ogembe is a Kogi Central Senatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party for the forthcoming general election. He was one of the ousted Local Government Council Chairmen relieved of their appointment by Kogi state high court in Lokoja Kogi State few months ago.
