In the words of Adolf Hitler-“Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live”. Unequivocally speaking, Air Marshal Isaac Alfa wouldn’t have been described as air warrior during his days in the military service if it had been a coward officer. Therefore, whether or not, the former chief of air staff will justify his military doggedness in a democratic dispensation can only be known in the fullness of time and his tenure.
The task of senator representing Kogi east senatorial district is an onerous one because aside it’s diversified tribes, it hold burden of larger local government when compared to Kogi west and central districts which has Seven and five local government respectively. Suffice to say that while this largely characterized constituency floats, expectation is very high owing to the fact that it has over time been ill represented in terms of activeness in the house and basic social infrastructure.
Therefore, with the oath taking today, Air Marshall Isaac Alfa has either commenced a glorious tenure or a glorious tenancy. This is because the electorates are now wiser than vote baits, politicians are now exposed beyond “god-fatherism” and backdrop of 2015 general election has unleashed the importance of marketable candidates to parties. So, a good performance will amount to a positive consideration if the new senator will later desire second term while a bad performance will send him quick packing. His public service records are as plane as that of a new baby.
By and large, I wish to congratulate him on his successful inauguration and pray that divine God blesses him beyond measure, guide his footage, suggest ideas in hus behalf and grant him sound health to fulfill the ideal yearnings of the electorates. For now, I stop at congratulations while a “THANK YOU” shall only follow the end of your tenure based in your score cards.
God Bless Kogi East,
God Bless Kogi State,
God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
